The Waqf Amendment Bill was also approved by the Upper House i.e. Rajya Sabha late on Thursday night. After a long discussion of 12 hours, the bill was passed by the Rajya Sabha. The All India Muslim Jamaat expressed its support for the Waqf Bill and assured the Muslim community that this law does not pose any threat to the properties of the community, mosques, dargahs, Idgahs or graveyards. At the same time, now Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed his reaction on this. CM Dhami has said that this bill is an important step towards transparency, justice and protection of the constitutional rights of all citizens. The central government is constantly striving to strengthen good governance and judicial reforms under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The objective of this bill is to establish complete transparency, legal clarity and judicial balance in the management of Waqf properties. This bill has been brought not against any particular community, but to protect the rights of all citizens. Its implementation will put a stop to false and illegal claims, which will lead to fair resolution of disputes related to land and property. It will also ensure that Waqf properties are not misused and they are used in the larger interest of the society.
Waqf Bill is a revolutionary step for the Muslim community: Bhatt
BJP has supported the Waqf Bill and called it a revolutionary step for the Muslim community. BJP state president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that the sin committed by the Congress governments in placing this law above the Constitution has been washed away by the BJP with the amendment bill. Now it will be possible to ensure accountability of the Waqf properties in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand for the welfare of the poor and needy Muslims. In a statement, BJP state president Bhatt said that the previous governments, following the appeasement policy, gave unlimited rights to the Waqf Board, under which the Board could claim any land and the victim did not even have the right to appeal in the court. Some Waqf officials, including opposition leaders and supporters including Congress, have occupied the donated lands. Not only this, neither any hospital nor any school was built from the property or money donated for the purpose of poor welfare. No social work was also done with it. In view of this, the BJP government has brought the Waqf Amendment Bill for the Muslim poor community and women upliftment. He said that the entire constitutional process was followed in preparing this bill. In this sequence, 96 lakh petitions were considered and suggestions were taken from 284 delegations. He said that the opposition’s allegations and opposition to the bill are inspired by the politics of appeasement. Waqf property is not private, it has been donated for the entire society. Congress and the opposition are misleading the Muslim community on this law. He said that this law is not against any mosque, cemetery or Idgah, but against those who have occupied the Waqf lands. The central government has ensured the right to equality by amending this bill.
