Weather will remain bad from mountains to plains even today, yellow alert for rain, snowfall and hailstorm

Weather will remain bad in Uttarakhand even today. Rain is likely in most areas of Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Pauri, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Nainital and Champawat districts. Whereas, snowfall is likely in places with an altitude of 2800 meters and above in these districts. The center has issued a yellow alert for snowfall and hailstorm in areas with an altitude of more than 3500 meters and heavy rain in some places. However, the weather is expected to clear up in the state after March 1.

For the first time in the season, continuous rain caused the mercury to drop by 12.3 degrees

For the first time in winter, continuous rain for two days has caused a huge drop in temperature. Talking about Dehradun, a difference of 12.3 degrees was seen in the maximum temperature in the last 24 hours. Last Wednesday, the maximum temperature here was recorded at 29.0 degrees. Whereas, on Thursday, it was recorded at 16.7 degrees, eight degrees below normal. Meteorologists say that for the first time in the season, the western disturbance has become active with such strength. Due to this, the temperature has dropped due to rain and snowfall.

Snowfall in Badrinath, Hemkund, cold increased due to rain in lower areas

Snowfall occurred in Badrinath Dham, Hemkund Sahib, Valley of Flowers, Rudranath, Lal Mati, Nanda Ghunti, Auli, Gorson as well as Niti and Mana valleys, while cold increased due to rain in lower areas.

Half a feet of fresh snow accumulated in Kedarnath Dham

Dense clouds have been looming over Kedarnath since early morning. It has been snowing for two days. About half a feet of fresh snow has accumulated in the Dham and about one and a quarter feet of snow is already accumulated. On the other hand, Mana, Niti Valley, Auli, second Kedar Madmaheshwar, third Kedar Tungnath, tourist place Chopta, upper region of Kalishila as well as upper forests of Gaundhar, Toshi and Triyuginarayan have also witnessed light snowfall.

Glaciers have been recharged, relief will be provided
The glaciers of the state have been recharged due to rain and snowfall at the end of February. Meteorologists say that this will provide relief in the coming days. Along with glaciers, rivers have also been recharged due to rain and snowfall. Its benefits will be available in summers. Relief will be provided from problems like water crisis.
