In the first meeting of Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB) chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, approval was given to the composition of the board and working committee as well as the formation of a corpus fund of Rs 10 crore. He said that apart from Triyuginarayan, there are many other picturesque places for wedding destination in the state.

As per the instructions of the Prime Minister, work should be done expeditiously towards developing these places. In the UIIDB meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that projects related to the infrastructure development of the state should be identified and implemented on priority. Development of projects in the field of development and expansion of airports, telecommunication infrastructure, development of medical colleges, new townships-housing, industrial logistics corridors, tourism infrastructure requires huge capital investment.
Instructions given to work with the action plan
Given the limited financial resources of the state, domestic and international capital investors will have to be attracted. For this, special attention will have to be paid to the promotion of Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects. The Chief Minister said that UIIDB has been formed to rapidly advance the development of infrastructure in the state and to develop PPP projects. He gave instructions to work with an effective action plan to achieve this objective and achieve results on the ground.
Good experts will be nominated
He said that good subject experts should also be nominated along with high officials of the departments related to the structure of the board and the executive committee. If good and experienced experts join the board, then the work will be conducted in a better way. The Chief Minister directed that efforts should be made to prioritize the schemes to be implemented and complete them in a timely manner. He directed to give priority to the selection of various places of the state for wedding destination along with Haridwar-Rishikesh Corridor, Sharda Corridor.

He also asked to take the services of a wedding planner for the destination wedding. The Chief Minister also stressed on prompt action on the proposals for two new townships in the state. Along with the development of the surrounding areas of Biharigarh, he was also asked to pay attention to the plans for redevelopment of Race Course, Yamuna Colony, HMT Ranibagh. Chief Secretary Dr SS Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Planning Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey were present in the meeting.
