The police vehicle reached the ward on the sixth floor of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh to arrest the nursing officer accused of molesting a female doctor. The patients were left stunned by this. Police and security personnel made way for the vehicle. The incident took place on Tuesday, the video of which continued to be widely circulated on the internet media on Wednesday. A female doctor of AIIMS has accused Satish Kumar, a nursing officer posted in the operation theater of the surgery department, of molestation. The police registered a case on Tuesday, but the accused was not arrested. Angry doctors boycotted work. They were adamant on the arrest of the nursing officer. Seeing the anger of the doctors, the police reached AIIMS, but the atmosphere there was very heated. Police came to know that the duty of the accused was in the ward located on the sixth floor. The police reached the ward located on the sixth floor along with the vehicle to arrest the accused. The vehicle was taken up the ramp to the sixth floor. By the time the patients admitted there could understand anything, the security personnel also arrived. He and the policemen made way for the vehicle. The beds of some patients were also moved here and there. After catching the accused, the police made him sit in the vehicle and came out through the emergency.

The Uttarakhand State Women’s Commission has shown strictness in the case of molestation of a female doctor at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh. Commission Chairperson Kusum Kandwal has written a letter to the District Magistrate on six points regarding strict action against other accused involved in the incident.
