This time 30,000 government officials and employees will be deployed in the municipal elections of Uttarakhand. 18,000 security personnel will be deployed for security related responsibilities in the elections. 2500 light-heavy vehicles will be acquired for the elections. State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar said that 24,000 employees will be deployed for voting and counting of votes in the elections. 4000 employees will be deployed for election management, 2000 officers will be deployed for sector magistrate, zonal magistrate, nodal officer, in-charge officer.
53 observers, 26 expenditure observers will be deployed
This time, expenditure observers will also be deployed separately in the municipal elections. Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar said that a total of 53 observers will be deployed in the elections, including 41 general observers and 12 reserved observers. Similarly, a total of 26 expenditure observers will be deployed, including 20 expenditure observers and six reserved expenditure observers.
Software ready for employees’ duty
The Election Commission has developed a software with the help of NIC to assign duty to employees in the elections. According to Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar, election duty will be assigned on a random basis with the help of this software. Officers of one district will be made observers in other districts. The Commission has made its voter list available for the first time on the online website www.sec.uk.gov.in.
