Registry fraud is continuously increasing in Dehradun. This is worrisome. Every day, land related frauds come to light here. First of all, the matter of change of ownership by tampering in five registries came to light. Then this figure increased to seven. When such cases started coming to light continuously, the district administration became suspicious. In this sequence, SIT (Special Investigation Team) was formed for in-depth investigation and the entire matter was revealed layer by layer. A separate cell has been created to complain about this and the result is that people are coming to this cell every day with complaints of fraud related to their land. The SIT has received 35 more complaints of registry fraud, in which the complainants have accused them of grabbing land by preparing fake records.
A public appeal is being made by the SIT that all the persons whose land records have been tampered can lodge their complaint. Not even a week has passed since this office opened and 35 complaints related to land fraud have already been lodged here. There are cases ranging from preparing fake documents to disappearing records.
