As soon as the law of 10 percent horizontal reservation to the identified agitators of Uttarakhand State Movement and their dependents became law, the way for reservation in government services was cleared for them. This reservation will also be applicable in Provincial Civil Service (PCS) examination. The Personnel Department has given instructions to implement horizontal reservation for state agitators and their dependents in the recruitment proposal (Adhiachan) to be sent to the State Public Service Commission for Uttarakhand Combined State Lower Subordinate Services Examination, 2024. Also, seven posts have been reserved for them in the departments of Revenue, Home and Prison and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs for this examination.
Monsoon session brought happiness for state agitators
The occasion of the monsoon session of the Assembly in Gairsain has brought new happiness for the Uttarakhand state agitators and their dependents. The Raj Bhavan approved the bill related to 10 percent horizontal reservation in government services for them. After this, with the issuance of notification on August 18, 2024, this law came into force in the state. The state government also did not delay in implementing this law. Additional Secretary of Personnel Lalit Mohan Raiyal has asked the Secretary of Uttarakhand Public Service Commission to implement the requisition of Uttarakhand Combined State Lower Subordinate Services Examination, 2024 as per the new law of horizontal reservation.
Determination of posts as per reservation
The government order has also determined the posts as per reservation for state agitators and their dependents in various departments included in the requisition. This examination will be held for 117 posts of 11 designations of eight departments. Seven posts of three designations of three departments are coming under the purview of 10 percent horizontal reservation for Uttarakhand state agitators and their dependents. –
Reservation on the posts of Naib Tehsildar, Deputy Jailor and Supply Inspector
Additional Secretary of Personnel Lalit Mohan Rayal said that out of the total 36 posts of Naib Tehsildar in the Revenue Department, three posts, out of the total 14 posts of Deputy Jailor in the Home and Prison Department, one post and out of the total 36 posts of Supply Inspector in the Food Department, three posts have been reserved for the state agitators and their dependents.
