In the case of gang rape of a teenager at the Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Doon, Doon Police checked the CCTV cameras installed at Kashmiri Gate ISBT in Delhi, in which the accused bus driver and the teenager are seen together. This also makes it clear that the bus driver had hatched a conspiracy to carry out the crime in Delhi itself. The police has kept the footage safe with them. Here, the victim’s magisterial (164) statement has also been recorded. The police has sought a three-day remand from the court to interrogate the accused. On which the court will give its decision on Thursday.
Gang rape inside the bus in ISBT premises
The teenager who reached Dehradun from Delhi late on August 12 was gang raped by five accused inside the bus in the ISBT premises. After counseling by the Child Welfare Committee, the matter reached the police on August 17. On August 18, Patel Nagar Kotwali police arrested Dharmendra Kumar resident of village Banjarawala Grant, police station Buggawala (driver), Devendra resident Churiyala, Bhagwanpur Haridwar (conductor), Ravi Kumar resident of village Sila police station Nawabganj district Farrukhabad (driver), Rajpal Rana resident Banjarawala Grant police station Buggawala Haridwar (driver) and Rajesh Kumar Sonkar resident Majra, Patel Nagar (cashier) in this case. On Monday, the police presented the accused in the court, where they were sent to jail in judicial custody. On the other hand, the SIT formed to investigate the incident reached Kashmiri Gate ISBT in Delhi on Tuesday. The police obtained the footage of the CCTV cameras installed there. It is being told that in the footage, the teenager is seen talking to the accused driver Dharmendra Kumar. The surveillance team will also investigate the CCTV cameras of the bus stops between Delhi and Dehradun. The footage of the cameras has been deposited in Patel Nagar Kotwali. Along with recording the statement of the victim before the magistrate on Wednesday, the police has filed an application in the court for the remand of the accused for collection of evidence.
