The members of the 70-member Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly can now get about four lakh rupees as salary and allowances per month. In view of the rising inflation, the ad hoc committee has recommended an increase in the salary and allowances of the MLAs as well as the salary of their personal assistant. Till now, MLAs get about 2.90 lakh rupees per month as salary allowance. However, it will depend on the House to what extent it accepts the recommendations of the ad hoc committee.
A committee was formed to consider the service conditions of MLAs
After the formation of the fifth assembly, an ad hoc committee was formed last year under the chairmanship of MLA Pritam Singh Panwar to consider the House and constituency, service conditions of the MLAs. The committee submitted its first report after discussing all the aspects, which the government presented in the House on Wednesday before the monsoon session.
Recommendation of 20 thousand hike in salary of MLAs
Although, no information has been given about what recommendations have been made in this, but according to the information received from sources, an increase of about 20 thousand has been recommended in the salary of MLAs. Apart from this, a decent increase has been recommended in the constituency allowances of MLAs.
The salary of the personal assistant given to the MLAs has also been increased. Sources said that the committee has not agreed to the demand of giving additional personal assistant to the MLAs.
