The BJP has geared up for the by-election for the Bageshwar seat of the assembly. To hoist the flag here again, the party will follow the same strategy, which was adopted in the by-election of Champawat seat. Under this, following the basic mantra of ‘won the booth-won the election’, a key worker will be assigned the responsibility for each booth. The effort of the party is that its candidate gets more than 90 percent votes.
Along with this, the party has now started the series of meetings at booth and power center level. The by-election to the Bageshwar seat of the Vidhansabha, which fell vacant due to the death of cabinet minister Chandan Ram Das, holds great importance for the BJP. There is a challenge before him to retain this seat and also an opportunity to stamp the public’s work of the state government by getting more votes than before in the by-elections.
In view of all this, the party had started preparations a month before the by-election program was announced. In this by-election also, the party is going to give concrete shape to the strategy of Champawat by-election on the ground. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami won the bypoll to Champawat seat by securing a record 93 percent votes. In this victory, the basic mantra of the party won the booth and won the election played an important role.
Then the party had assigned the responsibility of each booth to the key worker along with the ministers of the government as well as the state level leaders being deployed on the front in the by-elections. Along with this, the Panna Pramukhs of each booth were continuously kept active, who had the responsibility of continuous contact with the voters mentioned in one page of the voter list. According to BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt, the strategy of Champawat by-election will be adopted in Bageshwar.
Along with this, during the campaign for the by-elections, the programs of meetings of central ministers, chief minister and ministers as well as provincial leaders of the party are being finalized. Names will be sent for the candidate selection on Friday. For the Bageshwar by-election, the election management committee has already been constituted under the leadership of Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bahuguna and BJP State General Secretary Rajendra Bisht. Other leaders including former MLA Balwant Bhauryal are also included in the committee.
Now that the by-election schedule has been announced, the party has started the exercise of candidate selection. According to State President Mahendra Bhatt, the district level team of the party will send the panel of claimants to the provincial office on Thursday. The panel will be sent to the central leadership the next day after discussion on it.
Meeting of election steering committee Today BJP’s election steering committee meeting regarding Bageshwar by-election will be held on Thursday late evening in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The by-election strategy will be finalized in this meeting to be held at the Chief Minister’s residence.
