Senior state agitator Late on behalf of Uttarakhand State Agitator Forum. Sushila Baluni’s 84th birth anniversary was celebrated as Matrishakti Diwas. During this period, five women were awarded Matrishakti Samman for their remarkable contribution in various fields. Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama announced waiver of building tax of the state agitators. Said that its proposal will be placed in the board meeting of the corporation within a month.

Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama said that the state agitators should be respected. We will try our best to name Kachari Marg or Nashville Road after Sushila Baluni and install her statue. Its proposal will also be placed in the board meeting of the corporation. Former minister and Congress leader Dr. Harak Singh Rawat said that he also saw the struggle of Sushila Baluni during the statehood movement. He was there when the movement took place in Srinagar. Agitator Ravindra Jugran said that Sushila Baluni’s contribution to the movement can never be forgotten. He played an excellent innings in his socio-political journey.
Ashok Verma, former chairman of the Other Backward Classes Commission, mentioned various incidents during his tenure as councilor in the municipality in the year 1994. Said that the youth are carrying forward the torch lit by Sushila Baluni.
