
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the irregularities in the purchase of equipment and allocation of medical stores in AIIMS Rishikesh in the year 2017-18. The CBI team reached AIIMS on Wednesday to investigate this matter.
The team examined the documents there and took some documents with them. AIIMS Senior Public Relations Officer Sandeep Kumar confirmed the arrival of the CBI team. He told that the team had come to investigate an old case.
Irregularities of Rs 4.41 crore were revealed
Let us tell you that the AIIMS administration had purchased a sweeping machine for cleaning the roads of the hospital premises in the year 2017-18. Irregularities were found in the committee through which the purchase process was completed. Irregularities of about Rs 4.41 crore were revealed in this.
The machine could run only for 124 hours
This machine, purchased at such a huge cost, could run only for 124 hours. The investigation also revealed that another company was providing the same machine for around Rs 1 crore, but the purchase committee purchased the machine at a higher price.

In this case, the CBI had named the then Additional Professor Balram ji Umar posted in the Microbiology Department of AIIMS, the then Head of Anatomy Department Professor Brijendra Singh, the then Assistant Professor Anubha Agarwal resident Rishikesh Dehradun, Administrative Officer Shashi Kant, Accountant Deepak Joshi and Puneet Sharma, owner of Pro-Medic Diases located in Khaneja Complex Shakarpur Delhi.
