This Republic Day is going to be special for the Gram Panchayats involved in the Centre’s ambitious Vibrant Village program for all-round development of border villages. The Central Government has specially invited their heads and deputy heads for the Republic Day celebrations to be held in Delhi. 66 village heads and deputy heads (including husband and wife) of 35 gram panchayats covered under the Vibrant Village Program of the three border districts of Uttarakhand, Chamoli, Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh, will also go to Delhi. All of them have agreed. The responsibility of taking them to Delhi has been entrusted to ITBP.
Instructions to send information to the center soon
Last month, video conferencing was conducted by the Border Management Department of the Union Home Ministry with other states including Uttarakhand. In this, instructions were given to the heads and deputy heads of the Gram Panchayats covered under the Vibrant Village Program to immediately send the information to the Center regarding their consent or disagreement regarding participation in the Republic Day celebrations. On this, the government named Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Director of Panchayati Raj Department, as the nodal officer.
Deputy head of Malari will not attend the function
