Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has described the migrants as brand ambassadors of Uttarakhand abroad. He said that a migrant cell was formed earlier for the cooperation and assistance of migrant Uttarakhandis. To make it more convenient, Pravasi Uttarakhand Board will also be formed. Besides, like Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, State Pravasi Uttarakhand Day will also be celebrated. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday held a virtual interaction with the migrant Uttarakhandis living in different countries at the Secretariat. He said that migrant Uttarakhandis are making their mark outside Uttarakhand in the country and abroad with their hard work, dedication and intellectual ability. He expected everyone to adopt a village in a remote area of their birthplace and participate in its development. The state government will also become a partner in this.
The Chief Minister said that a migrant conference will be organized in Uttarakhand, in which the thoughts and suggestions of the migrants will be discussed. The nectar coming out of this churning will be fruitful in the development of the country and the state. During this, the Chief Minister sought the views and suggestions of 22 migrant Uttarakhand residents living in 12 countries including Australia, New Zealand, China, America, Japan, Britain and France. Those who interacted with the Chief Minister included Surendra Singh Rawat from Australia, Jot Singh Bisht from New Zealand, Sridev Raturi from China, Shailesh Upreti from America, Indira Bhatt from Japan, Manish Jugran from Britain, Chandrashekhar Silori from Thailand, Sunil Thapliyal from Singapore, Uttam from France. Rawat and Rakesh Belwal from Oman were prominent.
In the program, the Chief Minister also informed the migrant Uttarakhandis about the schemes run by the state government. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi thanked all the migrants for communicating despite living in different time zones. On this occasion, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Neeraj Khairwal, Uttarakhand Cell member Sudhir Nautiyal and other officers were present.
