The number of merino sheep which give high quality wool will be increased in the state. For this, an MoU will be signed with the Australian bidder soon. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has asked to work seriously for this. He has also given instructions to set up 600 multipurpose milk cooperative societies for dairy development in the state.
On Wednesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the schemes of sugarcane development, animal husbandry, dairy development and fisheries department at the Secretariat. He directed that the departmental schemes should be implemented in a time-bound manner.
50 Milk Producer Service Centers will be established:
In view of the shortage of fodder in the state, CM Dhami gave instructions for formation of 20 fodder FPOs, establishment of 50 milk producer service centers in cluster of milk societies, establishment of 16 Badri Cow Growth Centers. He set a target to automate the work of milk committees and milk unions, to solve the problem of fodder shortage by planting 10 lakh fodder plants on community land in hilly areas, to bring benefits to all milk societies and milk unions in Uttarakhand. Gave instructions to do the work as prescribed.
The aim is to promote organic sugarcane production:
While reviewing the Sugarcane Development Department, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the officers will have to work actively to bring profit to the sugar mills of Uttarakhand. He instructed to modernize Bajpur and Kichha sugar mills, change sugarcane seed, work of sugarcane survey through GPS and complete the target of promoting organic sugarcane production in the state at the earliest.
Effective implementation of Matsya Sampada Yojana:
While reviewing the Fisheries Department, the Chief Minister asked to ensure effective implementation of the Chief Minister’s Fisheries Wealth Scheme. He directed for expansion of 468 hectares of new water areas for fisheries, construction of 863 new trout raceways, 33000 tonnes of fish production and timely completion of the target of 80 lakh annual trout fish seed production. Departmental Minister Saurabh Bahuguna, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Baddhan, Secretaries Dr. R. Meenakshi Sundaram and Dr. BVRC Purushottam along with officers of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
