
Animal Husbandry Minister Saurabh Bahuguna said that there are about 27 thousand destitute cattle in the state. With the aim of providing shelter to them, emphasis is being laid on construction of cow shelters in all the districts. For this, Rs 17 crore has also been released to the districts. He said this in the context of the issue raised during Zero Hour in the budget session on Wednesday. He said that the government will bring strict laws for the protection of cows. Actually, MLA Gopal Singh Rana had raised this issue through adjournment. In response to this, the Animal Husbandry Minister said that the mentality will have to be changed for the protection of mother cows.
He told that till now 3500 cows have been taken to Gausadanas. Instructions have been given to speed up construction of cow shed for cattle. He said that MLAs should also contribute from their MLA funds in the construction of Gausadans. After hearing the Forest Minister, the bench declared the notice of adjournment inadmissible.
