After the investigation revealed the truth about illegal madrassas and mosques built in the middle of the forest, the CM office and the Home Department took cognizance. After this the officials lost their sleep and on Wednesday evening the administrative staff along with the forest department reached Tanda forest. The religious encroachment spread over one acre, including the illegal madrasa, was demolished with bulldozers. Preparations are on to take action soon in two other ranges also.
Both mosque and madrassa were functioning
On Tuesday, Jagran team had exposed the truth of construction of illegal madrassa and mosque in the forest adjacent to Tanda on Haldwani-Rudrapur highway. During investigation, it was revealed that both mosque and madrasa were being operated illegally in this forest of Terai. Only a local person comes to teach in the Madrasa of Naharkhatta, whereas in Budhakhatta Madrasa, for the last one year, a Maulvi named Salim, a resident of Thakurdwara, Moradabad, has been teaching Urdu-Persian in the name of Deeni Talim. Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, the nodal officer of Remove Encroachment Campaign, said that the Chief Minister’s Office and the Home Department took the matter of encroachment and illegal religious structure seriously and directed the Terai Central Division and Udham Singh Nagar Administration to take joint action. After this, on Wednesday evening the team demolished the religious encroachment on one acre of forest land, which also included a madrassa. Permission for its construction was not taken from the administration and forest department.
CM’s strict instructions, will not spare even negligent officers: Dhakate
Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, nodal officer of Remove Encroachment Campaign, said that no kind of religious encroachment is allowed in the forest. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has strict instructions that action will be taken against departmental officers and employees if any collusion is found regarding occupations. Careless officers will not be spared in this matter. After removing the encroachments, strict action will be taken against them also.
