
After the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, the flying squad and civil police teams formed by the Election Commission in Doon have started intensive investigation. The transportation of drugs and cash etc. is being monitored. The team led by Magistrate Manoj Kumar recovered cash worth Rs 7 lakh from a car on Canal Road. The car was confiscated after the person in the car did not get any satisfactory reply regarding the cash. To ensure strict compliance of the Model Code of Conduct for the Lok Sabha General Elections, the flying squad and Rajpur police station active in the city conducted an intensive checking campaign on Canal Road on Monday evening. During this, when the team stopped and checked an XUV car, seven lakh rupees in cash was recovered from it.
The driver could not give a satisfactory answer regarding the amount. On which Magistrate Manoj Kumar made a fard of the amount and handed it over to Rajpur Police. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Pramod Kumar Garg, resident of Surya Nagar, Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh). Police said that Pramod Kumar is currently living in Vivekananda Village, Jogiwala. The matter is still being investigated.
