Former President Ramnath Kovind will come to Uttarakhand on Friday on a three-day tour. He will also stay at Raj Bhavan. On April 15 and 16, former President Lal Bahadur Shastri will participate in various programs of the National Academy of Administration.
The former President will garland the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar at Garhi Cantt on Friday, which he had suggested to be enlarged during his tenure as President. A state banquet has also been organized at the Raj Bhavan in honor of former President Ramnath Kovind.

In December 2001, Ramnath Kovind, who had visited Uttarakhand while being the President, had told about the smallness of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s statue installed in Garhi Cantt during his return to Delhi.
When Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Senior) came to know about this, he took it seriously. The Governor asked the CEO of the Cantt Board to restore the statue immediately. The Cantt Board President and CEO enlarged the size of the idol as well as renovated it and gave it a better look.
After this, the Governor showed the new form of this idol to the former President during his visit to Delhi. The former President got emotional seeing this. He also thanked everyone for this work.
