The Central Government has approved an amount of Rs 715.97 crore for the development of 12.17 km long much awaited Jhajhra-Asharodi Link Road of Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for this. Chief Minister Dhami said that this link road will act as a bypass for Dehradun city, which will also reduce congestion and pollution in Dehradun city. Traffic in Dehradun will be easier through this road.
The road will be four lane
According to the plan, the road will be four lane. This entire road will be built new and it will cover 44.76 hectares of private and government land located in six villages. With the construction of this road, people coming from Delhi side to Selaqui Industrial Area, Paonta Sahib or Doon side near Ballupur will not have to enter the city unnecessarily.
There will be no pressure from additional vehicles
Vehicles going from Paonta Sahib via Dehradun towards Delhi will also not enter Doon. This will not create additional vehicle pressure in the city. This road will start from near the RTO check post at Asharodi and will pass through rural populated areas including forests and meet the Dehradun-Paonta Sahib highway at Jhajhra. Bridges and flyovers will also be constructed on the highway as per requirement.
