The way has been cleared for the skilled players of the state to get four percent reservation in government services. After getting approval from the Raj Bhavan, now its government order has been issued. Sports Minister Rekha Arya has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for this. Along with this, she has written a letter to the Chief Secretary and asked to prepare requisitions in relation to the vacant posts from various departments and send it to the concerned commission, while determining the sports quota as per the provisions of the Uttarakhand Public Service (Horizontal Reservation for Skilled Players) Bill.
Approval also received from Raj Bhavan in March
The state government had approved the bill to provide reservation to skilled players in government services during the budget session of the Legislative Assembly. It was also approved by the Raj Bhavan in March. Now its government order has been issued. It has been clarified that government departments, cooperative societies, boards or corporations, legal bodies controlled by the government, educational institutions controlled by the government and universities will come under the purview of public services. The definition of a skilled player has also been clarified in this. Along with this, categories of posts have been fixed for medal winners from Olympics to All India University Games or Khelo India Youth Games. Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that earlier talented players of the state used to serve other states.
Now such talented players will be able to serve in the state itself. She said that the department has also made arrangements for out of turn jobs. All the players of the state will benefit from this decision. She has also congratulated all the players for this.
