The matter of the government not getting the investigation report of land purchase and sale against the provisions of the land law has taken a political turn. Congress has targeted the government for the delay in sending the investigation report from all 13 districts. In response, BJP has also come to the defense of the government. The party has claimed to have received the report from five districts. On the other hand, government sources say that reports are being received from the districts. Sources are not able to clarify how many and which districts’ reports have been received by the government. Due to three consecutive days of holiday, the latest status of the report is being asked to be clarified in the next few days. On the guidelines of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi had sought the report of land purchase and sale from the DMs of all the districts. With the reports of the districts, it will be known in which district people from outside the state have violated the land law and bought more than 250 square meters of land.
The Chief Secretary had sent a letter to all the districts, in which it was said that if there has been a violation of the permission for land purchase from the government and district level, then send a report of it. Reports are coming from the districts. When the reports come from all the districts, it will be assessed and sent for strict action. Government is misleading on land law: Dhasmana
State Congress Vice President Suryakant Dhasmana said that the BJP government is misleading the people of the state on the issue of land law. He alleged that a strong and beneficial land law was made during the ND Tiwari government. Which the BJP governments worked to abolish. Talking to the media at the camp office on Sunday, Dhasmana said that recently the Chief Minister had announced that action will be taken against those who violate the land law. If more than 250 square meters of land is purchased against the rules, it will be accommodated in the government. But the state government did not tell who tampered with the land law made during the ND Tiwari government and ended the ceiling on the purchase of more than 12.50 acres of land. On the orders of the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary had sought a report from all the District Magistrates regarding the purchase of land. But no report was received from any district. Dhasmana alleged that the BJP government has given open permission for land purchase. He has demanded from the government that all the land purchases that have taken place from 2017 till date should be investigated.
Congress spreading confusion on land law: Chauhan
BJP state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said, Congress is spreading confusion on land law and land purchase. BJP claimed that the report of land purchase from five districts has been sent to the government. Chauhan said in a statement issued, on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Secretary has summoned the report of land purchase from the districts to all the District Magistrates. The state government will vest the land in the state government if it is against the rules or against the purpose. Chauhan countered that Congress needs to be patient because it has had the same attitude during decisions like investigation of recruitment scams, UCC, land jihad and love jihad. When BJP talked about bringing a new law on the need of land law in the state in accordance with public concerns, Congress was the first to face difficulty in this too. Congress has remained silent on the issue of land law till now. But it is talking about support for show. BJP had amended the land law made in the previous Congress tenure in 2007 as per public expectations. Once again, land law is being made stricter to maintain the basic nature of the state.
