
MP Haridwar and former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow. He talked to Chief Minister Yogi about Uttar Pradesh’s consent regarding the Iqbalpur Nangal project and also submitted a proposal in this sequence. During this meeting held in Lucknow on Tuesday, MP Haridwar Trivendra Singh Rawat said that with the implementation of this project, 15,280 hectares of land of Uttarakhand will be irrigated and 17,850 hectares of agricultural land of Uttar Pradesh will also benefit. He said that this project has been proposed in the name of Kharif Channel. With the implementation of this project, thousands of farmers of Bhagwanpur, Bahadarabad and Roorkee of Haridwar will benefit. Along with this, farmers of Baliya Khedi and Nangal area of Saharanpur will also benefit from it. This scheme will directly benefit 74 villages of Haridwar through irrigation facility while 85 villages of Uttar Pradesh will come under its purview. Haridwar MP said that the total length of irrigation canal proposed in the project is 72.8 km, of which 35 km is of Uttarakhand.
