
The government has given a big relief to the elderly in the matter of old age pension. In line with the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, applications for old age pension can now be received on the pension portal of the Social Welfare Department on completion of 59 years and six months of age. After this, the pension of the concerned person will start as soon as he completes 60 years of age. Chief Minister Dhami transferred the pension amount through online medium to 61 persons who completed 60 years of age in September-October in a program organized at the Secretariat.
Old age pension was increased from Rs 1200 per month to Rs 1500
Chief Minister Dhami said on this occasion that by simplifying the system of approving old age pension, the elderly will get the benefit of pension on time. Earlier, the government had increased the old age pension from Rs 1200 per month to Rs 1500. Now both the elderly husband and wife are being given the benefit of pension. The aim of the government is to provide the benefits of development and welfare schemes to the person standing at the last end of the society, for which continuous efforts are being made. He said that all the elderly are like his guardians, for whose service he will be ready. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said from the land of Kedarnath that the third decade of the 21st century will belong to Uttarakhand. The state is continuously moving forward in the direction of realizing his vision. In this sequence, he mentioned many achievements that have come to the account of the state.
Secretary Social Welfare Neeraj Khairwal said that in September and October, a campaign was run to identify the persons who have completed 60 years of age in all the districts. In this, 12 thousand persons were identified. Data of such persons was collected who have completed 60 years on October 1 and are eligible for old age pension. Along with this, data of those persons was also collected, who have completed 59 years and six months of age.
Government brings Registered Traders Samman Yojana, 160 to be rewarded
Dehradun: The state government will honour 160 excellent traders who regularly contribute to tax payment including SGST. 20-20 traders from Dehradun and Haridwar, 15-15 from Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital and 10-10 traders from the remaining districts will be included in this scheme. Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal gave administrative and financial approval to the Registered Traders Samman Yojana. Traders with annual turnover up to 20 crores will benefit from this scheme. Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal said that traders are playing an important role in the development of the state in the form of tax revenue. Registered traders have an important role in revenue generation. The Vyapari Samman Yojana has been proposed to encourage and honour such registered traders of the state who are regularly following the procedures of filing returns, paying taxes and other acts. All wholesale and retail traders of goods and services will be included in this scheme. He said that the selection of this scheme will be district wise. For the selection of traders, the Zonal Additional Commissioner will form a committee under the chairmanship of the Joint Commissioner at each divisional level.
It will have a Deputy Commissioner, an Assistant Commissioner and a State Officer as its members. The committee will prepare the number of traders to be honoured in the districts under its jurisdiction and will select the traders. The list of selected traders will be sent to the headquarters after approval from the Zonal Additional Commissioner.
This is the eligibility for the scheme
Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal said that for the eligibility of this scheme, the trader registered in the State Tax Department should have been regular in paying tax and filing returns in the last maximum five years. Also, no adverse action should have been taken against the trader in the last maximum five years. The trader should not have any revenue liability remaining.
