The government is going to give a big gift to the workers and helpers working in Anganwadi and mini Anganwadi centers. An amount of Rs 50 thousand will now be given to these Anganwadi workers on retirement. Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya has instructed departmental officers to prepare a proposal for this. He said that this proposal will be put up for approval in the next cabinet meeting.
Workers and assistants working in Anganwadi and mini Anganwadi centers have an important role in the implementation of schemes related to women and child development. Presently 14947 Anganwadi and 5120 mini Anganwadi centers are operational in the state. Workers and assistants are posted in Anganwadi centers, while only workers are appointed in mini Anganwadi. There is a provision to give an amount of Rs 30 thousand to these personnel on retirement, in which the demand for increase has been continuously raised.
Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya discussed this issue with the officials on Monday. Also directed that a proposal to increase the amount given to Anganwadi workers and assistants on retirement by Rs 20,000 should be prepared without delay.
gas stove will be arranged
In view of cooked food given through Anganwadi centers, the government will provide gas stove in all the centers. The departmental minister said that still 50 percent centers do not have gas stoves. Soon a proposal will be prepared and placed before the Chief Minister for its availability. He said that the government will take all possible steps to solve the problems of Anganwadi workers and helpers.
75 percent subsidy on loans to single women for self-employment
In view of the economic self-reliance of single women, the exercise regarding the Single Women Self Employment Scheme has been intensified. Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya, in a departmental review meeting held at her Yamuna Colony residence on Monday, directed that 75 percent subsidy should be given along with providing loans at affordable rates to single women for self-employment.
He directed the officials to prepare a proposal and place it in the next cabinet for approval.Cabinet Minister Arya said that this year, this scheme for single women was announced on International Women’s Day, which is now to be implemented. He told the officials that talks should be held with the Cooperative Department regarding providing loans to single women for self-employment.
It should be ensured that there are no guarantors or other formalities in sanctioning loans to these women. Scope of Mahalaxmi Kit will increase The cabinet minister said that there has been a demand regarding the Mahalaxmi Kit scheme that the way the mother on the birth of the first girl child- This kit is given to the child, in the same way it should be given on the birth of the child.
He also directed the officers to prepare a proposal for this and keep it in the next cabinet. He also asked to take steps for early disposal of the ongoing court case of the personnel working in the One Stop Center so that these centers can run smoothly. Women Empowerment and Child Development Department Secretary HC Semwal, Deputy Director Vikram Singh, Chief Probation Officer Mohit Chowdhary and other officers were present in the meeting.
